A hugggge thank you to everyone for the messages & comments regarding “Spoonie Biscotti” & other posts as well

๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

Really appreciate em!

You gave me much needed chuckles after digesting somewhat heavy complicated, news last night…

I’ve finally received desperate answer’s from a trusted Dr who always provides honest, truthful opinions & advice!

A man with deep foresight.

Whilst it’s not good news, I’m glad to receive clarity.

If any explanations presented below below are vague according to my way of understanding, please leave a comment..

(Fast forwarding to current time)

MYSTERY DISCOVERIES

[ EVENING OF THE 16TH MAY 2018 – NEWSFLASH ]

Dr *so & so* pays us his annual visits, usually once before & after Ramadhaan.

Inquiring how am I with great concern…

We gave an account regarding all the latest issues since the last meeting.

Looking at the images of hemoptysis, after hearing the symptoms involved.. immediately he states!

This is definitely:

In simple terms as DR explained

[ PULMONARY EMBOLISM ]

Can occur when blood flow from the heart clots, there by blocking some of the pulmonary arteries.

Causing:

โš  Shortness of breath always worse with exertion

โš  Chest pain like angina but does not resolve with rest & might worsen if a person holds their breath in or bends..

This type of chest pain occurs several times on the right side & remained a mystery because pain on the left side is based down to angina.. so what would cause terrible pain on the right side?? If one doesn’t have a collapsed lung??

The above answer.

โš  A cough which produces blood or blood streaked sputum

Discussed hemoptysis several times mainly in the following chapters

https://kayborninmay.wordpress.com/2018/04/23/48-shades-of-red-caution-for-sensitive-natured-people/

โš  Rapid & irregular beats.

These type of symptoms should never be left unattended & require immediate medical attention as it can be life threatening.

๐Ÿ”ท Symptoms vary according to the size of clots, how much of the lung / lungs are involved & other lung / heart disease as an underlying factor.

Cardiovascular disease – heart failure particularly, increases the risk of clot formation.

Readers already know I have multiple cardiac diseases involved….

๐Ÿ”ท Part of the lung which is robbed of blood, dies!! This is called Pulmonary Infarction (death of lung tissue)

[ HEART RATES ]

Like this – 130

Dr said its way too high!

Ideal PRbpm (Pulse rate beating per minute) is 60-90. Once it goes above 92, drs usually give slow down meds.

A limit rate is 100. Until then it’s ok.

I recall the monitors in hospital also beeping from 92.

[ WATER RETENTION ]

As the heart weakens further – fluid retains.

Confirmed in the abdominal cavity -stomach, liver, pancreas, spleeen, gallbladder, kidneys, most of the small & large intestines, urinary bladder & reproductive organs.

Gastroparesis cannot cause weight gain that suddenly goes up 2 kgs & drops down quickly after water retention meds.

Also my food hardly weighs anything – I pick up 1 / 2 grams at a time, then loose again.

[ RECENT FREQUENT FAINTING BOUTS TRIGGERED WITH ORDINARY EXERTION OF NORMAL TALKING & WALKING ]

They refer to this as

TIA – TRANSIENT ISCHEMIC ATTACK; (mini stroke)

A brief episode of neurological dysfunction

Causing loss of blood flow to the brain = a lack of oxygen.

Has a vascular cause

Does not result in tissue death!

Basically stems down to my “big hearted heart” again.

Symptoms last less than an hour & resolve by itself but should not be left untreated.

I experience:

๐Ÿ’ซ Dizziness

๐Ÿ’ซ Cognitive impairment

๐Ÿ’ซ Unable to speak, understand & comprehend

๐Ÿ’ซ Eye muscles pull their weight heavily downwards & I’m unable to lift them or look up normally

๐Ÿ’ซ Blurred vision

๐Ÿ’ซ Balance loss, wobbly, require walking support (poor co-ordination)

๐Ÿ’ซ Numbness

โš โš โš  Finally faint โš โš โš

Quite a bit of information to absorb…

Having answers at least allows control management with medication, somewhat better with a plan of action instead of not knowing anything at all & wondering what on earth are you living with?

More questions from answers…

Dr who explained the above repeatedly emphasized the dire need for me to be under the expertise of a cardiologist.

A meeting is scheduled with my neurologist in a few weeks time..

We shall also be discussing the investigation for another disease which seems to be, most likely, playing a role in this mountain of curves & twists, 1 mystery solved not yet resolved, another rears its head.

Many Drs in SA have not heard the word DYS-AUTO-NOMIA –

Which leaves me doubting of anyone in Gauteng knowing about this suspected disease which is a rare connective tissue disorder involving 13 different types – specifically vascular & valvular in my case – meaning it involves the cardiovascular system pinpointing to symptoms & previously diagnosed conditions.

2 clues of what’s to come regarding this topic….

1) “When bodily symptoms become major issues

Think!!! Connective tissue”

๐Ÿ’ญ๐Ÿ’ญ๐Ÿ’ญ๐Ÿ’ญ๐Ÿ’ญ๐Ÿ’ญ๐Ÿ’ญ๐Ÿ’ญ๐Ÿ’ญ๐Ÿ’ญ๐Ÿ’ญ๐Ÿ’ญ

– A friend living with the disease.

Due to time constraints, haven’t managed to wrap up the finale of hospital memoirs admission, a lot needs to be discussed.. will leave it for a time where justice on that topic can be done.

Unable to include a birthday post as well ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

You’re probably wondering when is Kay_born_in_May.…?

On the 21st – turning 22.

My body has already given me enough big presents to unwrap & continue discovering…

Every breath is a gift

Likewise, do I treat it.

Time is precious

So be cautious

Of heedlessness.

Strength on this path

I fervently ask;

To win a prized crown of honor

At the arrival of the precisive hour
