177 ~ An organ of great phenomenon ~

Kindly take note:

Adorning ones self is part of self care. If you know me, you know I use makeup etc. So please don’t misinterpret this message! I like nice things 😝 I use jewellery. I wing eyeliner 😆 I’m eager to dress and show up for myself because being alive is the most special occasion!

However, once you become ill, priorities change. You draw a border line & reach certain limits of inclination towards materialism.

You realise there’s a broader scope to life other than only chasing behind perishable possessions which cannot provide inner contentment.

You take cognizance of the fact that it becomes monotonous to be on a continuous search for enjoyment which is short lived & mostly superficial.

Your level of admiration drops when the heart is awakened from its slumber, to the reality of everything being left behind one day.

So the point I wish to present is; while working on worldly success, riches, or assets, dont loose focus of the hearts wealth & essence. Strive for a balance between both sides.

While we observe an extreme obsession and boundless race

For adornment of the body and beautification of the face

While the devils job is to hoodwink man from the provisions we have to send

He gets it right by drowning the masses in pursuit of every latest trend

So as we go about the daily grind of life, let us spare a few moments to introspect

Everything we do from careers to business, what is the primary object?

While we ensure everything in the home should be immaculate and smart

Rightfully so, but is effort also being directed towards decoration of the heart?

The tangible is brief and mortal

While the inner force is eternal

Observe the clouds floating through the sky

So too are we, just travelers passing by

Moving along time as it flies

Up, down, the lows and highs

On world heart day I offer a different insight and encourage you to take care of this wondrous organ in an encompassing manner:

1) 🏋️‍♀️⛹️‍♀️🚴‍♀️ Healthy people – Move about as much as you possibly can. Don’t stagnate & neglect exercise! Take advantage of being able to do so with no limitations or “pay back” durations.

Excercise is beneficial not only for our physical well-being, but it also boosts our mental state of health. It releases endorphins which the body needs. In simple terms – it secretes happy vibes lol.

Chronically ill people – Seek advice from your Dr or a cardiologist who can guide you in conjunction with a physiotherapist or biokineticist to structure an exercise plan accordingly.

I have a personalized regimen which has improved my quality of life & lung function to a great extent. (See the chapters on how to breathe your best)

Specific forms of exercises for people with Dysautonomia / POTS prove to be of immense benefit. But for each one it differs.

2)🧘‍♀️Some people do meditation in various forms. Prayer etc keeps your soul in shape.

3) Mantain a good diet – in the sense of eating balanced and healthy meals. Avoid excessive consumption of white / bleached sugars + flours, processed meats, fast foods, fizzy drinks.

Seek the alternatives. Watch how the body can “heal” by means of strict dietary measures accompanied by a determination to live. Chloe Temtchine who has PH is strong proof of this. She managed to avoid a double lung transplant by implementing lifestyle changes, after not being given any other option. Check out her YouTube channel for more info.

(What you put in is what you get out.

Although that principle went wrong in my case 🤣🤭 because I had NO bad eating habits prior to falling ill. Half the “junk” stuff didn’t agree with my body before Dysautonomia came on the scene

Everyone’s different. Try and see what works best for you)

Nonetheless, “diet” is of utmost importance.

3) Avoid smoking 🚬 or vaping

Confessions of an addict 👇

4) Guard & filter these channels which can either construct or corrupt us entirely:

– The thoughts in our minds

– The things we listen

– The places we look

– The words we speak

– The people with whom we associate (even online)

Be careful of the content you choose to follow, watch or read

On all the various platforms, including your social media feed

Actions are a production of these pathways leading to the heart.

4) The feelings we store inside our hearts are not visible and cannot be “seen”, but the electrical activity attached to it, transmits an aura which is felt. It will emanate and reflect your mood / vibe / personality.

Life has been entrusted, it’s not something we own

So take care of it like we’d do with someones loan

Clean the heart from foul thoughts, malice, envy, and pride

Then become astounded at the way it will light up as your guide

The most beautiful things in life have to be viewed and felt with the heart. But if our hearts are disconnected from its owner and if we’re at conflict with our own selves, how will we be able to live with a sense of serenity, let alone transfer good vibes to others.

If you’re not intuned and at peace with your inner self, you’ll always be at war & project a dysfunctional behavior at someone or something.

My thoughts travel to an uncle unto whom I once dedicated the following couplets:

“Your heart waves play melodious melodies

I hear about a dad with striking qualities”

Similarly;

Don’t let the tune of your beat be a means of dread

Or make someone silently wish you were rather dead

Alike the statement of Prophet Muhammad (Peace and salutations be upon him) when a funeral once passed by:

“He is at rest, or the people are at rest from him”

God forbid we be of the latter category 🙏

Lets strive to make our hearts carriers of good, and God willing, that spirit will be a means of carrying and pulling us through the test of being successful in the afterlife as well.

Enjoy your life

But don’t forget Al-Khawliq – the creator to whom your heart belongs

Enjoy your life

But don’t forget Al-Muhyi – The one who blew life into you

Enjoy your life

But don’t forget Al-Mumeet – The one who can take it back at any minute

Enjoy your life

But don’t forget Al-Hayy – The everliving being who never forgets us

Enjoy your life

But remember Al-Ghaniyyu – The one who is self sufficient.

The one who doesn’t need us. We are in need of him at every moment. At every step. For every breath. For the single batting of an eyelid.

Ar-Razzaaq – One who sustains us with water and food to eat

Is not overcome by fatigue and watches over us as we sleep

He placed a roof over our heads

And gave us comfortable beds

Seek him in the quietude

And hear his magnitude

“Thus, which of the favors of your lord can you deny?”

Nay, oh my lord! To all your countless bounties, I testify

Take from the oceans of divine love & spread it in whichever direction the waves take you

Leave people in a better condition than you found them

The heart is an organ

Of great phenomenon

I’d gaze at the recording patterns of an ECG or echocardiogram and marvel

Sometimes wondering what type of adventure is next in store to unravel

“The pens have been lifted and the pages have dried”

So no matter what has been written or will be altered by prayer in terms of my lifespan or future ahead, I’ve learnt one moral:

There is a higher calling to slowly discover in this period of “dys”ability

And we can utilize our suffering to rebirth a life that is extraordinary

With help sought from above ✨

Oh healthy audience! How astonishing it is to note: You can derive lifelong lessons from the ones fighting to live, & the ones who’ve been “dying” their entire life, since birth…

Grasp onto the gems our fighters impart

From the deepest recesses of their hearts

Through action, they are an example

And will teach you

How to;

Live that beat 💙
